Commodity guide · glass
Crated sheet glass typically rates class 60 - 70 (15 - 35 pcf); boxed glassware rates class 85 - 100 with liability considerations on top.
Sheet and plate glass in A-frames or crates is heavy per cube - commonly 15 - 35 pcf, class 60 - 70. Packaged glassware and bottles land lighter at 8 - 15 pcf, class 85 - 100, because the protective packaging is most of the volume.
Worked example. An a-frame crate of sheet glass: 60 × 24 × 48 in, 1250 lb. That is 40.0 cu ft and 1250 lb → 31.25 pcf → class 60. Run your own numbers →
Glass is one of the categories where the liability factor genuinely bites: fragility and claim exposure can put specific items above their pure-density class. Crate to survive a forklift, not a showroom, and photograph everything at tender.
